Please Note: To place a reservation for events, kindly call the office at 203-488-3805 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. When placing a reservation, a deposit of $50 per table is requested. One week prior to the event, we require payment in full. Event pricing includes tax and gratuity. Thank you!!
Kentucky Derby & Cinco de Mayo Happy Hour Saturday, May 5th
Olé, we’re off to the races. From 4 – 7, join us for an informal, Kentucky Derby/Cinco de Mayo Happy Hour in The Thirsty Gull, where you can horse around while watching the Race for the Roses. If weather permits, we’re hoping to set up a television outside as well. Wear a derby hat or sombrero and quench your thirst with a Mint Julep, Marguerita, Hot to Trot Wine, or a Corona – whatever bangs your shutters. While drinks must be purchased through the “O,” we’ll put out some chips and salsa, and, for this gathering only, you’re welcome to bring your own snacks as well.
Mother’s Day Luncheon Sunday, May 13th
Treat Mom to a delightful luncheon at the beach. Assorted cheeses and a vegetable crudite will be served upon arrival, followed by a delicious buffet featuring: Lemon Chicken, Prime Rib, Pasta Primavera, Sesame Green Beans, and a Garden Salad. For children under 12, you may pre-order a children’s meal of Chicken Tenders and French Fries. When placing your reservation, please specify how many chicken tender meals you would like. Lemon cake will be served for dessert, along with coffee and tea. Moms will be treated to a complimentary glass of champagne upon arrival.
Time: 1 p.m.; Price: $38/adult; $16/child under 12
Opening Party – Steak Night with Eight to the Bar Friday, May 25th
Put on your dancing shoes and kick up your heels, as we swing into summer with “Eight to the Bar.” Enjoy mingling over cocktails, and then treat yourself to a succulent, 10 oz. NY Strip hot off the grill. To accompany your steak, we will serve a salad bar and a baked potato bar. For children under 12, you may pre-order a child’s meal – the same bars, but substituting the steak with a burger. For dessert – brownies a la mode. After this scrumptious meal, dance the night (and calories) away to the incredible tunes of “Eight to the Bar.”
Grilling: 6:30 – 7:30; Dancing: 8 – 11. Price: $30/adult; $16/child under 12. Cover Charge: $5 at the door for those joining us for dancing only.
Craft Beer & Crust Wood-Fired Pizza on the Patio Monday, May 28th
Join us on the patio, where we will celebrate summer’s arrival as we sip on an assortment of locally brewed beer and feast on wood-fired pizza. Pizza will be prepared and individually priced by Crust Pizza. The beer, as well as any cocktail you may desire, will be available in The Thirsty Gull. Enjoy some music and try your hand at Giant Jenga and Cornhole. Hope you can join us for some summertime fun!!

Father’s Day Brunch Sunday, June 17th
Join us at 11:30 for a delicious brunch to celebrate Dad. Upon arrival, Dad will be treated to a complimentary mimosa or Bloody Mary. Brunch will feature: Assorted Quiche, Scrambled Eggs, Homefries, Bacon and Sausage, Cinnamon French Toast with Maple Syrup, a Yogurt Bar, Fresh Fruit, Assorted Muffins, and a Spiral Ham with Dinner Rolls. After brunch, wander to the water’s edge, where Dad can soak in some afternoon sun and suds.
Time: 11:30 a.m.; Price: $36/adult; $16/child under 12
Summer Lawn Party & Cocktail Buffet Friday, June 22nd
We’re not a black-tie kind of place, but let’s get a bit dressed up for this one – think old-fashioned, summer lawn party complete with croquet, corn hole and champagne. We had so much fun at the Owenego’s 170thbirthday celebration last year that we decided to recreate the party format just because…
Arrive at 6:30 for a complimentary glass of champagne. Sip on champagne and enjoy lawn games, while we serve an extensive selection of scrumptious hors d’oeuvres – including shrimp, clams casino, lobster roll sliders, and mini crab cakes among others. At 7:45, we will move the focus indoors, where we will introduce some stations into the mix that you can enjoy at your leisure until 8:30 – carving, pasta, lobster bisque, and salad. Dessert and coffee will be served, and the evening will culminate in a dance party with the fabulous Phil Thomas Band.

Independence Day Cookout Sunday, July 1st
Celebrate the 4thon the 1st. A lá carte offerings will include: hotdogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, grilled barbequed chicken, clam chowder and individual garden salads. If you’d like, you may opt to have your chicken atop your salad. For dessert, we will offer watermelon chunks and cupcakes.
Time: 4 – 6; Menu offerings will be individually priced. Call office for pricing.
Steak Night with Eight to the Bar Friday, July 6th
Same format as earlier in the season… Enjoy mingling over cocktails, and then treat yourself to a succulent, 10 oz. NY Strip hot off the grill. Camp Rising Sun Wednesday, July 11th
We are honored to host Camp Rising Sun’s Annual Night Out – a festive evening featuring a delicious cookout, fabulous music and fun for all ages. While The Hungry Dog will be closed, please join us for this special event to benefit Camp Rising Sun, “a camp where kids with cancer have fun.” We hope that you will join us in having a terrific “night out,” while supporting this truly remarkable camp!
Island Night Friday, July 27th
Upon arrival, set yourself on island time by treating yourself to a frozen drink. During cocktail hour, we will serve select hors d’oeuvres including clam chowder, steamers, and baked stuffed clams. For dinner, enjoy a delicious clambake buffet, featuring your choice of lobster or NY Strip, baked chicken sections, boiled red potatoes, corn-on-the-cob, and garden salad. Island attire and mindset suggested.

Food Truck Fridays & Firepits Friday, August 3. 10, 17, 24 and 31st
While the Thirsty Gull is open on weekend evenings throughout the summer, on these five Friday nights, gather ‘round our new firepits and enjoy the fabulous street fare of food trucks, while sipping cocktails surfside. The trucks will be announced as we get closer, but please help us to spread the word about Food Truck Fridays at the O.
Labor Day Cookout Sunday, Sept. 2nd
The waterfront and lawn will buzz with excitement throughout the day. Highlights will include The Harold Quinn Fishing Tournament for children under the age of 12, a scavenger hunt and family entertainment during the picnic. For the cookout, we’ll keep the format á la carte: hotdogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, grilled buffalo chicken, clam chowder and individual garden salads. If you’d like, you may opt to have your chicken atop your salad. For dessert, we will offer watermelon chunks and cupcakes.
Fishing Tournament: 10 – 11:30; Cookout: 4 – 6; Menu offerings will be individually priced. Call office for pricing.
Closing Party – Harvest Buffet Friday, October 5th
Celebrate the season at our Harvest Buffet. During cocktail hour, enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres and carrot-ginger soup. For dinner, meander through our harvest-themed buffet featuring filet mignon, cider-glazed pork, whipped potatoes, oven-roasted fall vegetables, and a garden salad with dried cranberries, blue cheese and candied walnuts. For dessert, home-baked apple pie á la mode. Yum!!!
